“You should do a Poison Ivy look today!” my husband said to me recently. WELL DON’T MIND IF I DO. This is a very loosely inspired look, but I had a bit of fun with it and loved finally playing around with Fyrinnae Triceratops. Its been sitting in my lipstick drawer for a bit, and it’s just too pretty to not do anything with.
It’s no secret that I am in love with Femme Fatale duochromes. I haven’t really had a chance to give Opaline Shoal a good go yet, swatched here. With a No Mirror Challenge up in r/MUA on Reddit (that I inevitably didn’t post to, because I’m a chickenpants), I decided it was a great opportunity to whip Opaline Shoal out, and give Jade Ghost and Meloncholy some much needed exercise. Admittedly, the No Mirror challenge was a bit harder than I had thought it might be…so fool hardy! Haha 🙂 Let’s take a look.
Guys, it’s my anniversary today! My amazing hubby and I have been married for four years now. It was such a beautiful day, probably the most beautiful of my life. We had our ceremony up in the mountains…
Do you ever wake up in the morning with a clear thought of what you want to do for your makeup that day? I somehow woke up knowing I wanted bright pink cheeks and lips, and neutral, simple eyes. Maybe I had some sort of a dream that I can’t remember now, about strawberry flavored shaved ice and pink cotton candy, but whatever happened, this is what we came up with!
I’ve been happily using my Fyrinnae Pygmy Hippo lip lustre since I received it mid-May, but of course the green-eyed makeup monster within me (in my mind’s eye it has razor sharp eyeliner wings and perfect brows) has driven me to covet that which I do not have… most specifically, I have been eyeing Meloncholy, because I can’t get enough of coral shades. Once I got that far, of course it only seemed practical to also pick up more pink-spectrum neutral-toned shadows, because I recently offloaded my Naked 3 palette after realizing that I love the conceptof it but just find that its shadows are too weak in their performance to validate a $54 palette purchase. This left a chasm! A gaping hole! Why not find other pink/taupe/bronze neutrals to help fill it? And, whelp… that’s how you place another Fyrinnae order. It just so happened that a BUNCH of my indie orders all arrived at once (Pumpkin and Poppy, Hello Waffle, and Darling Clandestine all showed up in my mailbox within 48 hours of each other), so I am in drunken indie product bliss at the moment, and I was so excited about these shades (especially Orangutan!) that I needed to swatch them right away.
Swatchy swatchy swatchin’!
