Swatches and Review: All four Notoriously Morbid Glass lip tints

1 (1 of 14)

I love me a good lip tint! I was thrilled when I got Notoriously Morbid’s Glass Apples lip tint in my August Vanishing Cabinet, and even more thrilled when I found out that three more were being released (including Glass Berries, which I used in this look here). I’ve done a substantial amount of damage in the past few Black Friday sales I have raided (oh Hello Waffle, I can’t quit you!), but while I’m waiting for all of my goodies to arrive, I have to entertain myself somehow! So why not with lip swatches of all four of the Glass lip tints, huh?

Onward!

Look of Today: Notoriously Morbid Tea Tosh, Stories by the Fire, Autumn Flowers, and Glass Berries lip tint

2 (1 of 4)

My favorite go-to daily look is some combo of neutral, potentially pink-toned eye shadow combined with a lovely cool-toned liner. Indie makeup opened up my eyes to the possibility of expanding my eye liner range with products like Darling Girl Superstar Serum, which allows me to turn amazing colors like Notoriously Morbid’s Autumn Flowers into shimmery liner magic. Today I used some of my favorite Notoriously Morbid shadows for something easy, with just enough whimsy to get me through the day.

Swatches and Review: Notoriously Morbid October Vanishing Cabinet… Walking Dead!

nm (1 of 7)

Today was a fabulous mail day… because my Notoriously Morbid Vanishing Cabinet arrived! Once upon a time I was subscribed to Birchbox and then I tried Ipsy, but ultimately both of those boxes really disappointed me. When the Vanishing Cabinet subscription because available, I launched myself at it with the power of a thousand fiery booster rockets and haven’t regretted a single month of it (that shows how flat Birchbox and Ipsy fell for me, when I measure them largely by their disappointments despite really trying to like htem). Notoriously Morbid’s Vanishing Cabinets are always so creative and also really appeal to the nerd in me (last month was Tim Curry, this month is The Walking Dead… what’s not to fall in love with?)

Let’s take a look at some swatches!

Swatches and Review: Notoriously Morbid Glass Apples Lip Tint from August Vanishing Cabinet

ga (3 of 6)

I have been very upfront in saying that I LOVE Notoriously Morbid Coffin Kissers. FOOL that I was, when I was browsing the Notoriously Morbid website for the first time I sidled over to their lip products page and positively scoffed when I saw that the only thing there was a lip balm. A lip balm, barely makeup at best, no coloring, why bother?

EXCEPT NO. I have really dry lips. I drink a lot of water. I moisturize within a sometimes overly complex, but exceedingly gentle-for-sensitive-skin skincare routine. I put sunscreen on my lips, for crying out loud. But most lip balms dry out my lips and accentuate their general desert-y-ness. Not so with Coffin Kissers. I added it to my order last minute, put it on my lips when it arrived, and it was love-at-first-mouth-to-balm.

Imagine then, dear reader, my excitement when I opened up my Notoriously Morbid Vanishing Cabinet of the month to find A COFFIN KISSER LIP TINT.

Look of Today and Swatches: Notoriously Morbid Give Me $20, Boe, and Cry Wolf Cry, and Coffin Kissers ROCK

DSC_0221

Notoriously Morbid shadows, Give me $20 across the lid, Boe in the outer V and crease and used as liner, Cry Wolf Cry blending the two together.

Due to clerical errors that led to white-bread white skin+full sun+extended time, a full face will not be included for the betterment of the public. The authorities are looking into who would allow this oversight to happen, but in the meantime, as I am working through applying ungodly amounts of eyeshadow to my arms (I have finally convinced my husband that this is totally normal and that there is no need for alarm… mwahaha) I wanted to still provide an eye-only look for the day while approaching the shadows piecemeal.

A while ago, the beautiful (and enabling) Saskia from Pretty Trivialities suggested I consider Give Me $20 from Notoriously Morbid. I LOVE teal and mint in almost any shade, and although I don’t know they are the best colors for my complexion (maybe? who knows?), they can be pried from my cold, dead hands before I give them up. I am also an unrepentant taupe addict, and have been questing for more great neutral shades to wear to work. Thus, the following swatches were born:
