GUYS. GUYS. My first package from my IndieMakeupAndMore came. And it was from SHIRO! My wonderful partner, Brikitty, made some perfect choices and I am very excited to share it for my 50th post. Come on in!

Look of Today: Black Violet Exclusive Shiro Shadow, Fyrinnae Pygmy Hippo, Shiro Mother of Dragons, Hello Waffle Terra Cotta
UGH, the past three weeks have been almost entirely makeup-less for me! Eventful, but it was one of those time periods in which I felt proud of myself simply for not doing nothing to my eyebrows before I left the house. I had a schmancy fundraiser gig I had to go to tonight, however, AND I received my Black Violet order that included their absolutely fabulous Celebration oil, as well as the special Shiro shadow ‘Everything Counts’ from their anniversary sale… so what better an occasion to give my new shadow a try?
Review: Shiro pressed palette with Whiteout, Doge, Farewell Wherever You Fare, and War of Five Armies
Today was the first day that I thought I might have felt the chill of fall creeping into the air… nothing accentuated, but a sort of hint, a whisper. Or maybe I’m just ready to be done with summer because I’m a white-as-white-bread chick whose ancestry comes from places that don’t see sun 2/3rds of the year. Whatever, potato potahto. Either way, I felt like I had to begin my dark lip practice- you know, wearing dark lips maybe slightly before it’s seasonally appropriate in order to get yourself used to the look (Full disclosure: I think people should wear whatever makeup whenever they want, because feeling fabulous has no season).
What better an opportunity to whip out my darkest burgundy lipstick than to pair it with my NEW SHIRO PRESSED PALETTE THAT CAME TODAY. Caps are necessary because THERE IS NO OTHER WAY TO EMOTE MY ENTHUSIASM ONLINE. Except maybe through italics, which seem a bit like an insane whisper…
Starting upper left and moving clockwise, we have Whiteout, Doge, War of Five Armies, and Farewell, Wherever You Fare. Let’s see a look! Continue reading
Look of Today: Can’t get enough Candied Apple and Jade Ghost! Plus a special Shiro gloss
I am waiting on some either very good or very bad news this week, and I would be lying if I said I wasn’t trying to self medicate with makeup. You know, in the distract-at-all-costs sense. So I may have woken up before the sun rose this morning, but instead of pacing around like a mad person, I hupped to doing my makeup right away and actually had time to do proper wings for work. Channel all of that anxiety into productivity!
It’s no secret that I absolutely love Femme Fatale’s Candied Apple shadow. Let me rephrase. Loooooooove it. It finally occurred to me today that Candied Apple also pairs PERFECTLY with my other shadow love, Fyrinnae Jade Ghost. A match made in heaven! The green duochrome of Candied Apple blends beautifully with the luminous wizardry of Jade Ghost.
Eye of Today: 4th of July Colors!
Holidays are the PERFECT excuse to wear colors you wouldn’t usually wear (like bright blue eyeshadow, which rarely features in my makeup). What better a time than the 4th of July to channel my inner Mimi? Which means I finally got to use Darling Girl Rhapsody (in my mind, I always call it Rhapsody in Blue), and though I didn’t really bring out the gold overlay as much with it, it is still a really phenomenal and highly pigmented shade.
