Review and Swatches: Shiro Custom Gloss, Dolce Shiro! Also, Darling Girl Super Star serum!

Guys. Guys. This week seemed really long. Has anybody else noticed? But as long as it was, when I got home on Wednesday my CUSTOM SHIRO GLOSS WAS WAITING FOR ME. And that was a highlight.

Shiro lip glosses are officially the only lip glosses I can stand. Typically the slip and stickiness slowly drives me insane as it gets on my clothes and face and personal items, because I live every day life with the genteel poise of a crabby two-year-old… but the wizardry of Caitlin’s lip gloss prevents this from happening. It’s lip goop like all glosses are, but goop without the stick and somehow with shine and lasting power. I don’t know of another product I can easily compare it to? In some ways it’s a little similar to YSL glossy stains, I suppose, but they don’t seem to stain as much and YSL stains are a bit thicker/stickier.

I also received my Darling Girl order this week with the Super Star serum, so it was time to put that to work.

Look of Today: Fyrinnae, Hello Waffle, Shiro, and Femme Fatale rosy extravaganza!

This week has been a bit of a whirlwind! I just finished an 11-day stretch of working, and have had great opportunities cropping up. It’s kept me from properly swatching my recent orders, but nothing can keep me away from taking a bit to play with some of them. Today I wanted something sweet and romantic, but with a slightly more classic edge to it. Pinks, wings, and red lips it is!

Monday this week my summer season at work kicked into high gear. Serves me right that this also coincides with the mailman (ei. my love-hate relationship) bringing four orders I have been waiting on: Hello Waffle, Darling Clandestine, Femme Fatale, and Notoriously Morbid. Reviews and looks with all of these amazing products will be coming this next week, BUT in the mean time I did have some time to play around with some of the Femme Fatale shadows!

Like a fool, I almost didn’t order their Candied Apple shadow… but I am SO GLAD I DID. Observe:

Look of Today: Shiro Master of Whispers, et all

When I swatched Master of Whispers, I KNEW I had to do a look with it right away. Master of Whispers looks like a quiet, pale violet shadow at first glance, but with a closer look you see that it isn’t quite what it seems, with a fine gold shimmer to it, and though this isn’t listed on the website, I see a bit of pink in there as well. The shadow totally makes me think about how light on his feet and other worldly Varys is, and how at first glance he perhaps does not seem like much, but as you get a closer look you get drawn into the immense complexity of his character… and this shadow!

Swatches and Review: Shiro Anniversary Sale Haul!

OK, with those stupid gifs now out of my system, I  can now move onto more important things. Like smearing eyeshadow all over my arms for a few hours. This is a joy I would never have anticipated before I got into indies, and swatching my entire Shiro order was a pleasure that was a bit difficult to explain to my husband (who thankfully is understanding of the whole insanity in the first place, but fears a bit for our scotch tape supply). You are now forewarned that I went a little hog wild with photos of the shadows and blushes, because damnit, they are just so pretty! See for yourself!
