Look of Today: Shiro Master of Whispers, et all

“Secrets are worth more than silk or sapphires.”
-Varys

When I swatched Master of Whispers, I KNEW I had to do a look with it right away. Master of Whispers looks like a quiet, pale violet shadow at first glance, but with a closer look you see that it isn’t quite what it seems, with a fine gold shimmer to it, and though this isn’t listed on the website, I see a bit of pink in there as well. The shadow totally makes me think about how light on his feet and other worldly Varys is, and how at first glance he perhaps does not seem like much, but as you get a closer look you get drawn into the immense complexity of his character… and this shadow!

In addition to giving Master of Whispers a run, I wanted to try Shiro’s 1-Up blush. It’s easy to forget sometimes how much I like light pink blushes… recently I have been all about the peaches and plum shades, but there is something just so feminine and refreshing about pink blushed cheeks!

Another goal of this look was to create something that would work with my Shiro Plausible Walrus custom gloss, which I am coming to appreciate a WHOLE lot more than my first swatches. It might be less coral than I was anticipating, but it is a more dynamic color than I originally gave it credit for. It is pink, but the violet shift is quite stunning. In a moderate opacity gloss it isn’t incredibly obvious, but it’s more than enough to add a touch of je ne sais quois to the gloss.

This whole eye look was a ASOIAF extravaganza, except for the liner. I used Master of Whispers across the lid, the slightest bit of Maiden Queen mixed with Master of Whispers in the inner corner, Hodor in the outer V, and Little Bird in the crease. I also used Chimera to line the lid and do a little bit of a vague/faint wing.

  1. You look so ethereal!! Wish I had your blending skills….Master of Whispers is really gorgeous and I should give it a go, might try to recreate this! Also I’m still wondering whether getting Plausible Walrus in moderate or opaque….stunning!

    • This is so sweet of you to say, thank you! I struggle with blending as well, so this is a really high compliment!! You should definitely give it a go with Master of Whispers, I’ve come to believe that you really can’t do any wrong with this shadow 🙂

If you get Plausible Walrus in opaque, definitely send me a quick message to let me know, I would love to see it! I also debated between opaque or not, and I think at the end of the day I’m happy that I got moderate, but I will be ordering future Shiro glosses in opaque 🙂

      • Sure I will! The only Shiro glosses I have are Zero in moderate (it’s a stunning nude that matches whatever I wear on my eyes) and Bowties are cool in opaque…an utterly gorgeous vampy red!

      • Ohhh, Bowties Are Cool would be AMAZING!! I’m going to save up for an order of a few customs at a time here soon. They are just a little more expensive than a lot of the other things I order (like Fyrinnae lip lustres are only $7 for a full size), and it’s all ALMOST the same price, but psychologically it seems like a bigger deal to get it, somehow. I think I want a custom color, Gelato Beach, maybe Cognitive Recalibration or Genius Billionaire Playboy Philanthropist, and probably Filth. It is REALLY hard to choose, though!
