So, I have been a bit slow updating the blog because work has been an extra dose of crazy, but I have some great stuff to add this weekend… in the meantime, enjoy this crazy dose of adorableness!

These costume hats came from BitchKnits, which has some AMAZING knit patterns for pet hats, and with Halloween coming up I just couldn’t help myself! Turn around time is 10 days, and she shipped in 9. I think the quality is great. The dog hats allow you to specify ear distance and width, and they fit perfectly. The package arrived three days later. My cat may be pissed, but I have the cutest mouse, frog, and unicorn around now.

Since I typically explore all things indie in this blog, I’ve decided to take a SLIGHT detour from makeup… into indie jewelry! Holidays are approaching, bla bla bla, REGARDLESS I may or may not have decided that I wanted to treat myself to something beautiful and rustic right now instead of waiting two months for the holidays. One of the absolute loveliest people that I know in the world, Kristine, runs WelltonWorks, a small hand-crafted jewelry business out of California that sells through Etsy, and her tri-colored stacking rings really caught my eye. Little did she know that I also wanted to do a little review of her work (MWAHAHA), so secretly, OH SO SECRETLY I placed an order!

(It’s not Maybelline). I’ve been on a no foundation kick recently, which is partway between experimental-skin-care and sheer-laziness. What better to pair this crazy experiment with than a shadow that works perfectly as MLBB (my lids but better) shininess… which recently came in the form of Hello Waffle’s Rose Champagne shadow!

UGH, the past three weeks have been almost entirely makeup-less for me! Eventful, but it was one of those time periods in which I felt proud of myself simply for not doing nothing to my eyebrows before I left the house. I had a schmancy fundraiser gig I had to go to tonight, however, AND I received my Black Violet order that included their absolutely fabulous Celebration oil, as well as the special Shiro shadow ‘Everything Counts’ from their anniversary sale… so what better an occasion to give my new shadow a try?

Swatches and Review: Tilt Shift Cosmetics Lipslicks

ts-18I love lipsticks. I also love space. One of the great things about indie products is they can marry crazy things like this– like I also love eyeshadow, and I love animal puns. I also love purples, pinks, and reds… so when Tilt/Shift Cosmetics, run by the incomparable Niahm, had a 20% off sale in July, you betcher butt that I went totally insane and bought all the colors of lipslicks available to me in full sizes. Tilt/Shift Cosmetics has just reopened from a brief hiatus, so now is the time to decide which of these gorgeous colors calls to you from across the misty moors, because they are truly lovely.
