It’s been 95-100 degrees every day the past three days (aw man, I am such a whiner) and after I struggled not to sweat my makeup off for the 4th of July, it was a welcome respite to go foundation-free today (though if I’m honest, I rarely wear a full face to work during the summer unless I have an important program I am doing). I’m on a shadow-liner kick right now (has anybody noticed?), and I have been desperate to give my new Fyrinnae Ethereal Eire shadow a go at something. Why not bring it into the liner ring?
Ding ding!
I pulled out my Tarte Aqualillies palette for the shadow today, since it hasn’t gotten a lot of use in my recent indie shadow binging. This palette is such a dream! The shadows are so creamy and blend so well.
One thing I do want to note is this close up was taken after I went about my day running errands today, and also after I took a nap. Usually my liner would be all messed up at this point (AND my brows!), so props to the Darling Girl Superstar Serum and the Anastasia Dipbrow for being relatively unmovable! And an honorable mention to the NARS smudgeproof eye primer for keeping my shadows in place DESPITE my sleeping with my arm across my face the whole time!
I also had a hair appointment today! I went with a more woody, mahogany color. I am loving it! I’ve been dancing around different shades of red for the past year now and have loved all of the different shades I have tried, but I like the ones that verge on being a little more natural the most, like my orange-y ginger color from last winter:
And now this deeper, classy mahogany color:
Mmmm, look at those it’s-too-damn-hot pinked cheeks (curse you summer!). I also appreciate that I don’t need to bleach out my eyebrows for this particular hair color, which I did do when my hair was the ginger orange color, as they are quite ashy naturally. The color looks really vibrant in sunlight as well:
Though you can tell it was just done, because my scalp is such a funny color. My stylist used some Elumen dye in my color, and it dyes your skin like CRAZY. I love the effect though!
What’s the weather like where you’re at? What’s your favorite summer time makeup+heat coping technique?
